We Are All The Same
No matter where your from, where your family originated, your beliefs or practices, what your religious or spiritual standing, one thing we can agree and resonate with is, we are all humans, who strive for connection.
Through out the years I have come to understand one thing for sure. It does not matter how different we look, or how different we may seem, most traditions, beliefs and stories are either the same or reflect each other in a way that seems way to consistent to be a coincidence.
I personally was brought up in a very old school, traditional, Sicilian home, I am a third/fourth generation Italian American.
Which means one of my Father’s Maternal Grandparents was the first of my family free to be born in the States, while his Father was the first on his side.
I was taught the stories and beliefs most are told, or at least know. If you reside in the States, you will know the Nation recognizes these holiday’s, traditions, and beliefs above almost all other Holiday’s, Sabbat or Celebrations, practiced through out any other traditions.
Within the stories I was told I could recognize, there was beautiful stories or lessons with in the stories, but they also left many questions that sat deep inside me, and I simply could not shake. These questions would send me on my spiritual journey between the age of 13 to 14. I will admit, I was scared of stepping away or even questioning the stories with in the “Holy Book”. I hesitantly began to think past fears set under the Catholic beliefs. But I was determined to find out the truth, something that made sense, something that I felt connected to.
So as an rebel, I asked my self the most important question, “Where do I start?”, and to me it was obvious. I had to go back to the beginning. The stories believed I started by researching the World’s oldest, belief systems. When I realized that the belief system taught to me was only about 2,000 years old I was utterly shocked. Science today, acknowledges that the civilized human race is at least 6,000 years old, left me only one question. “Before Christianity what existed 4,000 years prior?”
After hours of research, reading and verifying, I was shocked again.

Quickly, I reg Christianity and Catholic beliefs are one of the newest traditions practiced today. Many religions were practiced prior and have since faded but others are still practiced today. This left me wondering how each were different, and what was the truth.
I started researching, reading and learning about the oldest known traditions, the ones that are still practiced and the ones that have evolved or are no longer practiced.
It had lead me to the understanding that the majority of the stories told, were very similar or the same, except the names, and places would change. The changes reflected the area and culture where they were spoken.
The Christian God, is one of the most repeated deities throughout history and is strongly associated with many different figures and religions. Below are some of the more well known Deities.

Ancient Israelite
Canaanite
Ancient Greek
Ancient Roman
Norse
What I discovered was not something that erased faith, but something that deepened understanding.
Across continents, cultures, and centuries, humanity has always sought meaning, protection, comfort, explanation, and connection. Long before written scripture, people gathered under the sky, honored the cycles of the earth, told stories of the stars, and named the forces they felt moving through their lives. These stories were shaped by the land, the climate, the dangers, and the hopes of the people telling them.
When these belief systems are placed side by side, patterns emerge. Flood stories. Creation stories. Dying and rising Gods. Virgin births. Sacred light. Judgment after death. Moral law. Divine order. The names change. The settings change. But the heart of the stories remains strikingly similar.
This does not mean one tradition copied another in a simple sense. It means that humans, regardless of time or place, have always asked the same questions.
Who are we?
Why are we here?
What happens after?
How do we live rightly?
How do we survive the darkness?
